On Sunday, March 2, 2008 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. The Historical Society will celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal at the Drake House Museum.

 

 

 

 

The Historical Society of Plainfield received funding from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a division of Cultural Affairs in the Department of State through a grant administered by the Union County Division of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, the City of Plainfield, the Plainfield Cultural and Heritage Commission, McCutchen Foundation, the Plainfield Foundation, the Union Foundation, EJ Grassmann Trust, the Pond Foundation and the New Jersey Cultural Trust Fund.

Plainfield High School's Henry H. Banta Chapter of the National Honor Society students will

 re-enact F.D.R.'s March 4, 1933 Inaugural Address.

 

 

Ashort movie from the Frankllin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute in Hyde Park, NY will be shown.  This event is free to the public.
